Me Bad!!

Geez, where does the time go? I have been so busy the last few weeks I have not had a chance to post, barely to email and follow up on all the things I have promised.
I have not talked about Snow Patrol, Marillion (20 Year Dutch fanclub) acoutic show, and The Dears. I have moved house, mourned my Grandmother and am running like mad to get my contract sorted where I work.. busy busy busy.
But I hope to be back to my usual blogging power as soon as I can. And with all of that happening, only a few more weeks till Butlins II. should be great and fantastic.
I will update as soon as I dont have so much work and life issues to deal with...

Rotterdam Film Fest III

Well i have waited a little longer than I wanted to post this, but man life goes by in a flash.
Friday afternoon was Kammerflimmern A great movie, based in Colonge Germany. I loved the story and the acting. Great idea. After that was a few hours free got to hang around Rotterdam and then on to the next one. The new Wim Wenders, Land of Plenty which was a post 9/11 film full of paranoid charachters, American ideals and trying to ask the question why America would be attacked like it was.. Not his strongest movie but not his worse either. After that I was tired and not in the mood to go to another movie so I did'nt. Sat morning I got up early and went in for my last movie. The Italian movie Onde by first time movie director Francesco Fei, sadly I don't have any links for it because it is not registered at the IMDB. I liked the movie, the setting and the story line. What was missing for me was the main female charachters' motivation for her behaviour. I had the feeling that perhaps some vital scenes for the movie were left on the cutting room floor. I recommend it anyway just for the beautiful acting by the male lead Ignazio Oliva who for those of you who don't watch Italian cinema might know him from Stealing Beauty with Liv Tyler.

Rotterdam Film Festival II

Week 2.... started out not as good as the first. Well Sat I was busy in utrecht... more to follow on that story later. Monday and Tuesday I opted for staying home and relaxing.
Wed was Mysterious Skin. Set in Kansas and really so/so. It was'nt terrible and covered a interesting enough topic but it did'nt really move me and odly enough has a HUGE score on the IMDB, go figgure.
I skipped what was supposed to be my last movie 9 Songs, because I heard that it did not live up to much more than live music and porn.
Last night I went in for In my Fathers Den. Fantastic New Zealand movie, story, plot, acting scenery all well done. Even those adorable kiwi accents that are sometimes hard to follow. I would venture to say it is in 1st place with Illumination 2nd as my favorite films of the festival so far. I like the conicidence that I saw it last night at the Luxor theater and two years ago I saw the Whale Rider there as well... both from NZ and both great!
Tonight I have 3 more, should be interesting.
